Dr. Satish Tripathi, a global strategist and leader in the biopharmaceutical industry, returned to India in 2015 to help people in his village, Auraiya, in Uttar Pradesh. During his reform efforts, he met Ananya. Ananya was born with no eyesight and couldn’t attend school or receive any informal education till the age of nine because of her blindness.

This made Dr. Satish learn about the situation of blind children in rural India. He understood the importance of education as he was also born in a small village in India, and education changed his life. Dr. Satish started the Ek Kadam Aur Foundation to help blind children in India and ensure that differently-abled children get equal education opportunities. His vision is to build a society where every child is nurtured to become a leader, and no child is deprived of this opportunity due to physical and financial reasons.
